Trans County Transportation Society (TCTS) received a welcome response to our vehicle replacement fundraising drive. On October 28, 2011 the Bridgetown branch of the Valley Credit Union presented TCTS with a cheque of $5,000 toward our goal. On hand to represent the Valley Credit Union was Branch Manager, Gary Olsvik along with Mike Wark, President and CEO, Martin Gillis, Board Chair and Doug Oldford, Secretary of the Valley Credit Union.

General Manager, Debbie Decker and Phil Milo, Board Chair were there on behalf of TCTS to receive the much-welcomed donation.

Some of the comments made:

Gary Olsvik acknowledged the growth of the vehicle fleet over the years and the quality of service provided by TCTS.

Mike Wark was very pleased to play a part in the continued efforts of TCTS to meet the many special needs of the community.

Martin Gillis was also very proud to be involved in the growth of TCTS to meet the increased needs of the community. He congratulated TCTS on their success.

Debbie Decker thanked everyone for attending on such a cold morning. She reviewed the history of TCTS and mentioned the support of Best Toyota in Coldbrook in sponsoring a new car when TCTS was struggling to move forward in 2004 and 2005. She stated her appreciation of the Valley Credit Union grant of $5,000 to help in the replacement of the older vehicles and in the maintenance of the service.

Phil Milo gave a sincere thanks to the Valley Credit Union on behalf of the TCTS clients and noted that without sponsorship and support from the community TCTS would not be able to continue to meet the transportation needs of our community.
